Hi all

Is this natural and grammatical?

On a side note, I think a law which infringe upon basic human rights warrants a cross-the-aisle vote that reflects the member's conscience, (and?) not a vote that is a mere manifestation of the official line. I say this because to consciously violate another person's basic rights that came with their being a human, whether directly or indirectly, by act or omission, is not only a debasement of the lives of those affected, it is also an erosion of humanity on the part of (the decision makers?)

Thank you
