Omitting the subject in a compound sentence.

Is it a bad idea to omit the subject in the second clause of a compound sentence? For instance:

1 She thinks she is the most beautiful woman in the world, but is really hideous actually .

2 We thought it was a difficult thing to do,but was very easy eventually.

3 She was going to leave ,but didn't do it after all.

Can I omit this "second" subject whenever I want without affecting the meaning of the sentence?
