Omission of subject and be-verb

1. Our bags were properly transferred from the airport, though arrived a day late.
2. The images of rural life that she produced while lived in Pennsylvania are probably her best known works

? I have learned that 'conjunction + subject + be-verb + participle' can be reduced to 'conjunction + participle.' For example, "Though he was arriving late, he didn't seem to feel sorry." can be changed to "Though arriving late, he didn't seem to feel sorry."

For another example, "While she was living in Sydney, she didn't go there." can be changed to "While living in Sydney, she didn't go there."

But as shown in the two sentences above, why can 'though arrived' and 'while lived' be possible, even though 'though they were arrived' and 'while she was lived' can't be possible?

The sentences are ungrammatical.

I'm probably more accepting than CB, because I think that the first sentence is passable, or at least I find it less jarring than the other one, which I wouldn't accept at any level of formality. For me, while lived would have to be changed to while living or while she lived.

kjoon2257why can 'though arrived' and 'while lived' be possibl
They aren’t possible, and neither are *though they were arrived and *while she was lived, as you said. These are correct:

…though they arrived a day late.
…while she lived in Pennsylvania…

These don’t have the structure subordinating conjunction + s

Are you sure you're not confusing that construction with

Our bags were properly transferred from the airport but arrived a day late

where but is a coordinator joining two verb phrases?

Yes, sometimes "though" is similar to "but" in meaning.

ozzourtiOr are you saying that "though" can never be a "coordinating conjunction"
Yes. Well, at least not in standard English. I would never say something like He likes dogs though hates cats or It’s not the destination that counts, though the journey.

Well, those two sound really odd... especially the latter.
