Omission in the later clause?

According to Multiple Intelligence, we do not possess a single intelligence, but a range of intelligences.

Q) Is something omitted between the words in the underline?

For example,

The first is fine. The second is restating and unnecessary but may be appropriate to highlight posession of intelligence. However, if I were to highlight I would add 'do': ...single intelligence, but we do posess a range of...

The first comma (after Multiple Intelligence) may also be removed but I like it there because it adds a pause, highlighting the theory.
