is it ok to omit "on" before "earth" in the sentence "Are you aware that you are lighter on Mars than earth?"

Note: In this case, the planet needs its proper name, with a capital letter, Earth.

Using "on" would avoid the interpretation that you are lighter than earth is on Mars, but then that interpretation is unlikely.

Still, it's not bad to get into the habit of avoiding unwanted interpretations because someday you may find that it

I suppose, writing idly, I was thinking of me and Earth in a similar situation. As we both approached the black hole, Earth would still be much heavier

On the other hand, if Earth were to stay where it is, and it is only me hurtling toward the black hole then, yes, I could end up heavier. That's a pretty frightening thought!
