Olympic Games-Plural or Singular?

I am confused. Is "Olympic Games" plural or singular? It may refer to one event but it may also refer to the games played. Please shed light on this.

'Olympic Games' is a noun which can be treated as a singular or a plural one. If you use it as a singular, countable noun you have to use a verb in a singular form, otherwise use a plural verb.
