old folks home

What's a difference between a nursing home and a old folks home?

Thanks

They cater to the same crowd, but nursing home inmates usually require more care-- there are nurses. An old folks' home may just have domestic staff.

Also, 'old folks home' is a sort of slangy/jokey way to refer to a home. It would never be used as an official description/name.

Hi New2grammar

old folk's home (BrE); old folks' home (AmE). "Old folks home" without apostrophe is not correct.
