Okay, if you want to give me a treat, I would take it...

Please correct the following sentences:

Okay, if you want to give me a treat, I would take it, only if you are giving it to me out of friendship/goodwill. And mind you, right now I'm feeling so hungry that, allegorically speaking, I could eat a horse.

Top answer

Okay, if you want to give me a treat, I 'll would take it, but only if you are giving it to me out of friendship /goodwill . And mind you, right now I'm feeling so hungry that, allegorically speaking, I could eat a horse. If I were going to insist on calling attention to the fact that "eat a horse" is not literal, I might say so hungry that I could eat a proverbial horse.

  • Okay, if you want to give me a treat, I 'll would take it, but only if you are giving it to me out of friendship /goodwill .
  • And mind you, right now I'm feeling so hungry that, allegorically speaking, I could eat a horse.
  • If I were going to insist on calling attention to the fact that "eat a horse" is not literal, I might say so hungry that I could eat a proverbial horse.
  • But my preference is to leave it out: so hungry that I could eat a horse.
