OK or not?

Is it OK to say, "The youth are the nerve of life"?

I would appreciate it if you answered my question.

Top answer

I prefer to clarify whether the word 'youth' is the singular word for a young person, or a collective noun. Although likely acceptable as written, 'youth of today' would sound better to my ear. The word 'are' clarifies that your noun is plural, making it acceptable.
