‘Oft-repeated’ or ‘much repeated? ‘In’ or ‘on’?

Which expressions should I use?

“Why was our professor murdered?” is the (oft-repeated, much repeated) question heard (in, on) our campus.

Top answer

(oft-repeated, much repeated) Both are OK. I prefer much repeated. Oft-repeated seems to me a little too whimsical for a context about murder.
