Offload

My wife always has a lot to offload after a long day at work.

Does this mean that she has a lot to talk about e.g. things that has happened at work? Which she then offloads on the husband? Am I correct?

Or how would you understand the sentence and offload?

Top answer

Yes, that's basically right. In that sense, "offload" means to talk and release pressure.

Does unload have the same meaning?

And is there other words or phrases that are used to describe this?
