Does "Off track" mean the same as "Off the track" from the idiomatic standpoint?

Thanks!

Hi, No. With most idioms, you can't vary the wording very much. Often, not at all.

Would "Off track" mean going off the topic?

Thanks!

Thanks Clive! I wasn't able to find my post and had to post it again. The sentence I had in mind was "I read too many articles on my project and some of them put me off track" (tried to convey that I tend to deviate when I read some of them).

Thanks again.
