Off the ramp

Title : Off the Ramp

Students of the BD Somani Institute of Art and Fashion put up their annual fashion show, Silhouettes 2010, where they created innovative outfits inspired by mother earth.
Archana Kochhar, Meher Castelino, Nisha Sagar, James Fereira , Ami Patel, Babita Malkani, Priya Amiri, Seema Kakkar and Riyaz Gangji played judges for the evening.
Aaradhana Somani played the perfect host and even gave a token of appreciation to special guests John Abraham, Shaina NC and Javed Akhtar. Also models Shonal, Candice Pinto, Alecia Raut, Iris Maity, Freddy Daruwala, Vinay Karan and others walked the ramp.

Please explain to me what "off the ramp"means here.

Though I know in general "ramp" means "an area where people walk in a fashion show".
