Off the page?

The sensation of ...was just off the page. What does this phrase "off the page" mean?

Also: ...is sending me "over the edge". Please explain them to me. Thanks a lot.

Search with edge "off the page" is probably very intense, undescribable but in other contexts is detached, originated in a written page of fiction.
