Off skid

Hi,there

An additional pump is not essential for the operation of the basic system.

Adding an additional pump as a customer option has been compared to

recently received customer specifications and the need for an additional

pump has not been identified in these specifications. The use of an

optional extra pump has been dropped from the main arrangement work.

if it is deemed necessary at a later date it will have to be as a contract

specific addition and off skid.

what does it mean by 'off skid'

Some of the language is unclear. My best guess is that all the elements which make up this system (including the single required pump) are mounted on a movable platform, commonly referred to as a "skid" (without wheels), which may be pushed or pulled or loaded on a truck bed with a forklift. The "additional pump" would be a separate stand-alone unit, not installed as an integeral part of the system.

  • I have no idea how large the "system" is, or if the type of skid I've described is appropriate in this case.
  • I suspect the standard elements of the system mounted on the skid would be "permanently" piped and wired etc.

the pump is an additional flushing pump .

you mean 'off skid' has nothing to do with 'as a contract

specific addition' , it related to 'how pump is being mounted' ?

Okay, so we're talking about two flushing pumps. One is part of the basic package and one is a spare.
