How would a native speaker phrase this?

Are there different ways of phrasing?


My parents aren’t of the same religion.

My parents aren’t from the same religion.

My parents don’t have the same religion.


My parents aren’t of the same culture.

My parents aren’t from the same culture.

My parents don’t have the same culture.

My parents aren’t from the same religion. I don't remember hearing this.

My parents don’t have the same religion. OK

We also say casually "My parents aren't the same religion".

You could use 'belong to' or 'practice', thus:

My parents don't [belong to / practice] the same religion.

In a real conversation you're more likely to be more specific:

My mother is Muslim, and my father is Buddhist.
