Of such

Dear Friends,

In one of the posts I have read:

Do you have any scientific evidence of such?

I just wonder what 'of such' exactly means at the end and whether this construction is colloquial or could also be used in an academic essay.

Thanks a lot.

I just wonder what 'of such' exactly means at the end and whether this construction is colloquial or could also be used in an academic essay. 'Such' here is a pronoun, referring to 'the thing previously mentioned in this discourse'.
