Of one's own accord?

Hello everybody.

“Hey, these guys are funny!” said Kurokawa, and his cheeks rose in an

awful grin. “So you’re sticking up for Kitami, are you? You’re siding

with him against us? Interesting. Well, give it your best shot, and let’s

see what happens.

1. Does funny mean rediculous or deceitful?

2. What does it mean by giving your best shot? It means trying your best snow projection?

His voice was terrifying. Almost involuntarily, Copper lowered his
head. His hands, still holding the snowballs, hid themselves of their own
accord behind his back.

3. Themselves refers to Copper's hands but it figuratively means Copper hid the snowballs on purpose. Am I right?
