of little inportance or a little important?

Dear friends,

what's the difference between two patterns, below? when which one we use? (is the question itself grammatically correct?Emotion: smile ).

This matter is of little importance.

This is a little important matter.

cheers,

Ali

This matter is of little importance. OK This is a little important matter => sounds awkward. => Better to say “This is a trivial matter” or "This matter is not that important"

Which one of these options do we use?

This matter is of little importance - It means that a case is of low priority.

This is a less important matter - I guess that in such a way it sounds better!

These phrases are synonymous. I mean that their meanings are practically the same.

Is inportance an actual word, because I'm stumped?

No; it is a misspelling.

No. That was a typo for 'importance'.

By the way, the last post on this thread before yours was in 2006.

By the way, CJ, have you ever noticed that we joined EF only two days apart?

Yes. I think so. Something like that is lurking in the back of my brain somewhere. We recently passed our tenth if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, yes. Now I see the join dates. August, 2004. But it looks like you post twice as much as I do.
