Of and for confusion

I am confused of how and to use of and for in these examples:

Here are the slides of or for my presentation

These are the protein requirements of or for adults.

Is either one correct. If yes, what is the difference?

Top answer

These are natural: Here are the slides for my presentation. Here are my presentation slides. Either of these are OK: These are the protein requirements for adults.

  • These are natural: Here are the slides for my presentation.

  • ( eg.
  • on a jar containing a food supplement) These are the protein requirements of adults.

Thank you. So can't of and for be used vice versa in your last examples of adults. So if I were presenting a slide on the topic of requirements, which should I use? They both seen correct, but maybe in reference to things 'of' is better. I really don't get the difference in when to use them.

Also, is 'here are my presentation's slides' wrong? The 's is not possible?

No. The slides are yours, not the presentation's.

You can use multiple possessives:

My father's brother's wife's name is Mary.

I would use "for" but "of" is not incorrect.

The protein requirements for adults are less than those for children.
