Of all or of all of them?

Hi teachers,

Are both of them correct?

a) The train travels faster than the bus, but the plane travels the fastest of all.

b) The train travels faster than the bus, but the plane travels the fastest of all of them.

Thanks in advance

Both are correct, but I seldom hear "of them" at the end. It's not really necessary. CJ
