Grammar

Of advantage

Hi,

I am not sure if it is grammtically to use "advantage" in the way ,"A little bit of programming knowledge is of advantage"?

Or it is a mistake to say in this way?

thanks

clee62 Hi, I am not sure if it is gramm a tical--ly-- to use "advantage" in th is way ,"A little bit of programming knowledge is of advantage" . This is not a direct question, so a period should be at the end. "advantage" is fine there, but 'an' is much better than "of".

  • I would not use "of" there.

In my opinion it's not a mistake, but it's not a very good way to say it. The following is better:

A little ... is an advantage.

Or, more formally:

A little ... is advantageous.
