e.g. the ABC event happens five times today.

Could you put an appropriate word(s) in a blank?

Can I say: Occurrence number is five; occurrence times are five; occurrences are five...?

But we don't often say it like that.

ABC occurred five times today. [best]
There were five occurrences of ABC today. [OK]

There were five instances of ABC occurring today. [OK, but not the best phrasing]
