Not as something awful. Not as something disparaged.

When something is obscured, its features are blurred - unrecognizable.

It therefore may seem to have no worth/value, and may as well be cast away.

I think "twisted" here means "changed" or "inverted/subverted," rather than "lost."

"Rapture" is a biblical allusion which I'm afraid I'm not up on.

Christian fundamentalists talk a lot about it in relation to "the end times - end of days."

It has something to do with an event at the end of the world, when the faithful are taken to heaven without actually dying, or something like that.

2. I can see why you interpreted this as you did. It's very difficult to keep it in context.

Are these two different appositives for "Darkseid's Apokalips"? Or is one a justification for the other?

Granny talks in riddles. Perhaps, step one, the human heart is cast away, allowing step two, the development of evil.

But step one in itself is not evil, as I see it.

Of course this is not a sentence, but "obscured" is at the very least passive in implication, as Dimsum says. There's no actor. No one is faulted for the act of obscuring. We can just blame it on "nature." To me, the obscuring and the casting aside are not evil acts, if I may beat a dead horse.
