Objects in mirror

Driver? Passenger? Never been in a car in your life? You probably still know the line: "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear."
I wonder why there's no article before the word 'mirror'. The noun 'mirror' is a countable noun, according to Cambridge dictionary, Oxford dictionary and many other. It means this word always requires an article. Why don't we have an article in this sentence: "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear."?
