Obese

Hello

I urge someone to look at the following:

1] One of the chief reasons for people to obese is lack of physical activities.

2] One of the chief reasons for people to be obese is lack of physical activities.

Which is the correct one?

Top answer

The first one is definitely not correct: "obese" is not a verb. I would say "the reason for obesity is the lack of physical activities", or "the reason why some persons are obese is they don't excercise enough".

Thanks pienne for the reply.

He is obese.
Would you write this sentence? If the word obese is an adjective, you could write it. I am not sure.

Yes, I could write the sentence "he is obese". It's not a very kind one, though... Emotion: sad
