Hello,
How do you pronounce 1500 in this sentence? The plane levelled off at 1500 feet.
Would the year of 1500, the price $1500, the number of something, (eg; 1500 tourists) be pronounced in the same way? Are numbers pronounced in the same way in general no matter if we are talking about the price of something or the number of something, etc? Thank you!
Most people would say "fifteen hundred feet" but "one thousand five hundred feet" is also correct. Years are always pronounced as "fifteen hundred," "twelve seventy (1270)," "four seventy six (476)," etc. If there is any doubt you should add AD or BC as required.
