1. While levels of adrenaline and cortisol decrease appetite at first, the effects don't usually last long.

2. Unless you react properly to everyday pressures, your body will release too much adrenaline and cortisol, which decreases your capacity to learn.

Q) I was wondering why "adrenaline and cortisol" in #2 is treated as a singular unit(... adrenaline and cortisol, which DECREASES....) when it is treated as a plural unit in #1(... adrenaline and cortisol "DECREASE"....).
