Nuance

nuance is very hard word and it meaning varies with context.


Would anyone please fill up the gap with synonym or other explanation next to the word ‘nuance’ in thse follwing sentences (All from NYTimes):

1.The short answer is this….. but the more nuanced ( ) asnwer is that….

2. Don’t generalize the result, nuance ( ) it.

3.Justices impatient with absolutes but hungry for nuances( ).

4.On affirmative action, High court seeks nuances( ).

5.New finding add nuance( ) to discussion of early sea.

6.It is kind of careful nuanced( )argument that is a hallmark of President Obama’s communication style.

7.It seems overly dramatic to denounce a supporter because he/she has uttered an opinion you find distaseful. Better to say something mild and nuanced( )--- I don’t agree with that but I am not gong to turn my back on someone because of some of a few unfortunate remarks.
