It's a regional dialect word that means the word nothing. In other words, nothing happened on the pitch.

owt = anything
(indefinite pronouns)

I don't believe I've heard this anywhere but in northern England, maybe Scotland.

People in the U.S. have absolutely no idea what these mean.
