Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide

Does anybody help me with the meaning of this phrase:
"Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide"
Is it an idiom?
How can we use it? I will appreciate if you shed light on with an example.
Thanks

There is not any place for me to run,... to hide. I cannot find such a place. Does it clear?

Imagine, you're trapped by police and the only thing you have in front of you is a brick wall. "Well - you think,- there is nowhere to run and hide.

I agree with Fandorin. "Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide" isn't an idiom though.
