Nowadays, women as well as men work full-time. Therefore, women and men should share household tasks evenly. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, males and females have hectic schedules because of higher standards of living. Some people claim that doing housework needs sharing equally while others have opposite opinions. From my point of view, I partly agree with this approach and my view will be discussed in this essay.

On the one hand, there are two main reasons that husbands should

help their wives do housework. First of all, not only do women take time to

care for children, but also they must go to work. In addition, after finishing work,

they would be under a lot of pressure if they continued to do domestic chores independently;

therefore, it may badly affect their physical and mental health. Another reason

is that in urban areas, most women are responsible for both sharing their

husband’s financial burden and doing household chores, which is unfair to them.

Over time, women may get into conflicts with their husbands which could lead to

getting divorced.

On the other hand, others strongly believe it is women that have

to spend much time at home doing housework. In some Asian countries, there is

constantly a social bias that “ men make houses, women make homes”. This means wives

ought to be a homemaker while just men in their families are breadwinners,

which is so conservative. Moreover, the husbands, after a stressful day, need

to take rest and recover. Although women, these days, earn money, males are the

main income.

In conclusion, sharing household

chores could encourage gender equality and make males and females closer.

However, depending on circumstances, people had better not be excessively

strict about these problems because of work schedules or some traditional

social bias.
