Nowadays people waste a lot of food that was bought from shops and restaurant. Why do you think people waste food? What can be done to reduce the amount of food they throw away?

It recent years, the amount of food waste is increasing and that also is one of the most concerning problem of the modern wold. Food after being bought from shops and restaurants that can not be eatten will be thrown in garbage bins by the buyers. This essay will discuss the possible resons for this situation and some suggest to limit it.

Regarding the reasons, food is discared that may attributed to customer and food quality. First of all, the buyers lack of carefully planning when they go to the grocery stores or restaurants. Sometimes they are attracted to buy one get one deal or discounted food which encourange customer to buy more and more. For instance, families have a habit of planning food for whole week but they cannot predict some busy days, parties or days-off, they will eat out and can not use any food that has been prepared beforehand so it will be made food unusable. Second, the confusions or errors during industrial processing of food mean that all food items that do not meet the set standards are wasted. Foods in the supermarkets have to discared if their odor or packaing is not longer good.

Turning to the solution, the problem can be improved by proper planning and quality control. The customers should list food before go to grocery that to avoid buying more food than you need. Check the expiry date of food carefully when buying some canned food and use them before the expiration date. Moreover, preserving foods in the right conditions with light, humidity and temperature so that they can be used in a long time.
