Nowadays in some countries, children are given fewer responsibilities compared to the past. What is your opinion? Give some relevant examples from your own experience.

It is undeniable that our life today is more easy-going so that there are some changes in children's role in terms of responsibility. In my opinion, the number of responsibilities they have to handle today has lessened.

The generations before the one now, saw war, famine, liberalization and freedom struggles. That was the generation that lived through diversity and pulled itself out of it. Also, unlike today, there was many children in a family in the past, and the older siblings were entrusted the responsibility for taking care of the younger ones.

With the development of society and countries, the above-mentioned responsibility have now ceased to exist. Children nowadays are expected to perform well in academics and sports, technically making them skilled enough for a promising future career. Moreover, the family size have been reduced, so that children are no longer accountable to oversee their brothers/sisters. All this is majorly true in the cases of developed and some developing countries.

In the past, children was so busy with their life so that they really didn't have time for themselves. They were mature earlier than their time and were wiling to contribute towards work and household chores. Unlike a child in 30 years ago, the childhood of a modern one is more enjoyable and relaxed, even if it means doing nothing and lazy around. I think this is a much better situation for them to grow up in.

In conclusion, due to the development in the lifestyle and conditions of the society, some countries are not placing too much responsibilities on children. There is much time to learn about the essential responsibilities, so that they will not be overwhelmed with such things in their childhood.
