Now that's a big bucket of churn.

In an animation called 'Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2':
Fint: Mom gave me this lab coat because she always dreamed I'd do great things.
[Flint drops his head in disappointment.]
Flint: Now I guess I won't.
Flint's Dad: [Looking at Flint] Now that's a big bucket of churn.
What does his dad mean by a big bucket of churn?

'Chum' is bait that fishermen throw by the bucket-load into the water to attract fish. You will have to figure out what that metaphor means in the context of the movie you watched.

Thanks, MM.

Is 'churn' being used in that sense some sort of slang? (No dictionary I've consulted has this meaning under 'churn'.)

But I guess I can see why it's being called 'churn'.

Not 'churn'— CHUM.
JungKimHe was probably referring to his son's huge disappointment and hopelessness when he mentioned 'a big bucket of churn'.
I wouldn't know.

That's a problem in certain fonts -- lower case r n looks like m. There's a woman who write books about knitting under the name "The YARN Harlot,' and my sister thought it was 'The YAM Harlot."
