Hi. Is this sentence correct? Also, what is the underlined part? Is it some kind of subordinate clause?

Also, if the sentence above is written as a spoken content, should we also shorten (contract) the words "it is" in the underlined part to "it's," or perhaps could we shorten (contract) a phrase and not another in a sentence when written as spoken (when there are two)? I hope I have written correctly to reflect what I wanted to say, but I am not sure, though. Anyway, thank you for your help in advance.
