Now that...

Is this grammatically correct teacher?
Now that I'm actually falling asleep, I can no longer sleep because I have to go to school.

The grammar is OK, but the semantics are awry. I suggest: Now that I'm almost falling asleep, I can no longer sleep because I have to go to school.
