Sir,

I was reading a book in whcih the word nowadays was written like "now-a-days".

Is "now-a-days" correct?

I always write it as one word, and the hyphenated form looks antiquated to me. My dictionary does not list the hyphenated form, but Brewer, I see, hyphenates it in his Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (1898): [url="http://www.bartleby.com/81/12229.html"]HERE[/url].
