Nouns versus adjectives

Hi teachers,
Needed information: A man stopped in front of a shop and looked at a picture.
If the sentence is, 'At first I felt interested, then I felt angry, then afraid.'

According to this answer, 'First interest, then anger, and finally fear.' The following questions are possible. Right?
a) What were his feelings when he saw the picture?
b) What were his emotions when he saw the picture?

But if the question was, 'How did he feel when he saw the picture?'
Then a possible answer should be, 'At first he felt interested, then he felt angry, and finally afraid. Am I right?
