what are the nous in this parapgraph?
I disagree with Sophia defending her mother in every argument that is raised by the critic. She only distinguishes on the positive times her mother reprimanded her. She fails to discuss any negative stories or times that her mother’s parenting got out of control and resulted into threats and tears. Sophia expresses how achievement was not her goal. Although, receiving perfect grades and performing every piano piece perfectly was her main goal growing up. She contradicts herself when she expresses these points in her letter. Sophia leads us to believe her mother was understanding and compassionate while still remaining strict and showing fair discipline. I don’t find this to be true. Amy Chua was a strict disciplinary mother who understood very little and felt no remorse in disciplining her children’s mistake’s or life choices
