Noun vs gerund

Hello, everyone.

In the following statement, wouldn't it be more correct to say finishing(s) instead of finishes?

"Its finishes midpack in our super luxury car rankings, however, because rivals have quicker acceleration and better predicted reliability ratings."

I ask because I believe midppack is either an adverb or adjective there, so the gerund form, as I understand, would fit better in there, given its verbal nature,

"Its finishing(s) midpack in our super luxury car rankings, however, because rivals have quicker acceleration and better predicted reliability ratings."

Also, "midpack-finishes", as in:

Its midpack-finishes in our super luxury car rankings, however, because rivals have quicker acceleration and better predicted reliability ratings.

, sounds fine to me. What do you think .. ?

Thanks for your help.

It's got nothing to do with grammar. It's a simple typo, and should read: It finishes midpack in our super luxury car rankings, however, because rivals have quicker acceleration and better predicted reliability ratings. "It" is the subject and "finishes" is a present tense verb.

That is not grammatical.
