Noun Phrases

I need help with the sentence, "People thronged to watch Christians thrown to the lions." My question is, "to watch Christians" the noun phrase or is it just "Christians"? I also need to know the function of the clause. Would it be direct object? Not sure and need some help. Thanks so much!!
