i'm still confused to idetify gerund. It looks like verb sometimes.

So how about these two example

He has trouble remembering his phone's number.

Student entering that course are really good in Physics

Remembering and entering look like verbs.

Can someone help me with these two sentences to make me clear.

The gerund acts as a noun acts: it is subject or object (of a verb or preposition). He has trouble [in] remembering his phone number.

The verb acts like a participle: Students [who are] entering that course are really good in physics.
