Do you say, "noun compounds" or "compound nouns"?
Thank you.
Hello teal lime, I've never heard or seen "noun compounds". For example, "bedroom" is a compound word not a noun compound. Best wishes, Joseph

Compound noun is the usual term for words like "greenhouse", "blacksmith", "driveway", etc.
The term 'noun compound' is likely to be confused with noun phrases consisting of a head noun with a further noun as attributive modifier, e.g. "green house" (as opposed to "greenhouse"). which are not compounds at all, but syntactic constructions.
