Noun clause

I was beginning to think that you were a computer program because you work so efficiently, or that there was something wrong with me that I work so slowly (because I work so slowly)

1) Does the bold version work (better than the one in brackets)??

2) 'that I work so slowly'= noun clause in apposition to 'something'??

Thank you.
