00I have this word 'illness'. It is known to me as an variable noun. But what is baffling is when to use this word in a general sense and when as an instance of it. This word's seems to be more prone to the usage as uncountable rather than as countable compared to other nouns I know of.02br
02br
00He is (staying) home (at home -- good?) due to illness.02br
02br
00Here, it is most likely he is staying home due to one illness but both "an illness" and "illness" seem to be used a lot.02br
02br
00He is suffering from illness -- think it is a similar case as above. 02br
02br
00Is my observation unfounded? 0-
