Nothing worked our way apart...

Nothing worked our way apart from the fact we got tickets of that movie.

Does it sound right in terms of grammar?

we got tickets for/to that movie" "Nothing worked our way" is not a common expression in my experience. "Nothing went our way" is the closest familiar expression that comes to mind. However, your version is intelligible and in my opinion acceptable.

"...we got tickets for/to that movie"

"Nothing worked our way" is not a common expression in my experience. "Nothing went our way" is the closest familiar expression that comes to mind. However, your version is intelligible and in my opinion acceptable. I would personally use "apart from the fact that..." but the sentence is acceptable without "that".
