Nothing so ... as

Hi friends

I can't understand the structure and meaning of this:

Nothing so attracts and draws anything to itself as a likeness of feeling does in friendship.

I am confused because "a likeness of feelings atrracts anything to itself" seems meaningless. Can you help me?
