I see your point, James M, but sometimes we interpret the questions here a little more liberally. Sometimes this happens as a result of having a lot of repeated experiences with individual students and knowing the kinds of issues these particular students are usually interested in. In this case I too might have seen the question as one about appropriateness in ordinary conversation and writing r
