Are both "Not that I know" and "Not that I know of" correct?

I believe I hear it from time to time as "Not that I know", but "Not that I know of" is far more usual.

HUBLOTDo you guess that "Not that I know" used to be more common than "Not that I know of"?
I have no guess at all! I'm not familiar with the history of the expression.
